Record Pools – Are You Swimming Yet?
The winter months have beaten us and unless you live in southern California, most of people are not swimming in outdoor pools longer.
Until recently, Indie artists and labels created for itself was a difficulty for his music is heard by anyone outside their own backyard pool of fans. With guerilla marketing finally becoming common practice and stores online music become a main stay of the music aficionado, record pools are open to companies for the Indian population in general.
What is a record group? Basically, a record pool is an organization of DJ's that act as an intermediary between DJ's and musicians. The power of a group registration is that it can reach a mass global market for light speed.
Since 2005, there are over 7000 DJ's and industry professionals as part of this digital revolution. For a DJ to belong to a pool registration must pay a monthly fee of the association to get the latest music and more current.
Often this music is available for them before they have reached mainstream radio, and so, often swimming record have more than one initial impact of the fashion outlets gender.
Radio programmers have power in radio, clubs and street music is now given to the DJ's who participate in pools of registration, allowing them to have control over what "break."
So how you can get an invitation to swim in your pool? No invitations needed, but must have a good professional product that is available in digital format (though I found one that accepted vinyl).
Some pools require registration that you have your own label, which means you do not have as their band name. This easily done by creating his own label (too much information to go here, but you can find information in my book The Guide Indie Music, Marketing and money).
Once the business side of care, begins to search the Internet using the keywords, "record pool" and then contact them to make sure that his style of music is part of his repertoire.
Not by chance is sent online or hard copy press kit for every pool record found, like you would not send his music to all stations to discover. For example, a country record pool is not interested in acid rock and a classical record pool is not interested in spinning a blue grass tune. Then begin to submit your CD to the information contact to purchase. Do you homework and beware of companies that do not publish letters or may be music collectors.
