We all remember the creepy department store Santa Claus in A Christmas Story putting his boot on Ralphie foreheadpushing to slide down the slide and the destruction of his hopes for a Red Ryder BB gun, all in one fell swoop. Some well-played by Jeff Gillen, however, the film Santa Claus becomes understandable voice as one of the worst Santas movie ever. I mean, if this kind of Father Christmas was at your local mall, would you take your child?
Over the years, there were essentially two types of Santas big screen: the kind that give you a holiday, warm fuzzy glow inside and nature that make you want to bar your chimney Christmas Eve. For example, here are some of the Santas that we like:
Miracle on 34th Street: the 1947 Classic has the most authentic kind Kris Kringle ever. Performed by Edmund Gwenn, this Santa is going to trial to prove he is not crazy, and finally reveals that yes, Virginia, he there really a Santa Clausand he stars in Miracle on 34th Street.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: Even if it is a bit narrow-minded when it comes to physical deformities, the Santa Claus in Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer is so much of the film Christmas annual observation for most of us, we forgive him his sins. And after all, he makes a great "Ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas," and he sees the error of his ways by the end of the film.
The Santa Clause In Tool Time North Pole?: What seemed like an unlikely pair-up firsttime Allen Santa Clausdid actually work in the movie Santa Claus. Allen Representation of a Kris Kringle accidental in this 1994 film was so strange and strangely endearing, that the film has been transformed into a trilogy.
The Polar Express: The almost strangely realistic animation of The Polar Express has drawn our attention in 1994, and Father Christmas in this film, voiced by Tom Hanks, deserves a "Best Of" nominations. When he introduced the boy in the film with the first gift of Christmas, we see that Father Christmas is nice, strong, generous and believableeverything a Santa should be successful.
And then there are those Santas that we wish to convey our houses right on the eve of Christmas:
Bad Santa: When we think of the bad Santas, Billy Bob Thornton comes certainly in his mind with alcohol in hard, low life, thieving Santa character in the aptly named movie Bad Santa. If this type of Santa seeks never come to your chimney, call the police.
Santa Martians cons: Yes, you read correctly. This movie had everything: Space Invaders, the evil and the big guy in red suit. This is not really the fault of Father Christmas this 1964 film is so terrible, but his character that makes us uncomfortable and sad because he is always laughing at inappropriate times and became so disappointed when no one laughs with him. Definitely not a Christmas classic.
Santa Claus Santa Claus: The Tree-Topper Santa scary movies, has a 1959 version of the Jolly Old Elf team with Merlin the Magician to destroy Satan. And what is even stranger is that he does not live at the North Pole. He lives on a cloud in outer space. And even more bizarre, his reindeer turn to dust in sunlight like vampires little alien critters on harness bells.
So if you ever get tired of watching reruns Many holiday season in Miracle on 34th Street, count your blessings holiday you get to watch the best of the best of all Santa characters. After all, you might be looking Sixties Santa save the world, or crawling Antics inappropriate Santa certain other really bad.
